Swiftclan camp

a dip in a large moor, the dip is sandy and comfortable. most horses make their nests in the sand here. and the dip gives good shelter from the everpresent wind.

The large stallion looked over his clan, his herd, his family. His deep warm gaze watching them with kindness and passion. He had newly been named the chieftain of Swiftclan and he would do his best to keep his clan safe. He raised his large painted head to the sky's, and seeing the pink of the dawning sky he set quickly out of camp, toward the Nightclan border. His hoove's picked up little dust as he went swiftly, confidently. Clop, clop , clop, echoed his hooves as he went.

The blindingly white mare moved into camp, she flicked her ears and dropped letting herself have a good roll in the dirt before standing up snorting. her pink interioured ears flicked around listening for any enemies. she was happy being a brave, she never wanted to become a Warchief.

Eaglestar trotted back into camp, his handsome head held up high. He passed by the rolling white mare, Crystalfeather. He smiled and nodded, "Good morning, Crystalfeather? Any intruders?" He watched for her reply.

As soon as Eaglestar entered camp she was up on her feet a cold and unreadable look on her face. she flicked her ears in a no and turned heading for the fresh hay pile. she would have been considered pretty if it werent for the ice sheild that was all most other hroses could see. to most other horses she was cold and bitter, when in reality she was bitter yes... but sweet also and kind as well as caring. However without a voice none of that was ever shown. she could only huff through her nose to make a snorting sound but she couldnt neigh, winny or talk.

Eaglestar acknowledged Crystalfeather continued on, through the camp and all around. He always got mixed messages from Crystalfeather then again she was mute, oh well. He cantered through, his breath short and quiet, his steps heavy and loud. It was his normal, walk but he shook his head and began to walk slower. The stallion was actually rather exciteable and goofy. He was fun and charming but he was chieftain now, he couldn't show that side of himself anymore.

Crystalfeather watched him as he continued along. she pinned her ears back as she thought about he could choose whether to be his real self or not. she was mute she couldnt choose. if she let someone close then they would hurt her. she had been burned before. her eyes glittered with hatered she had been burned by Swiftstar. he had seemed all interested in her and she had responed till she found out that he had just been trying to win a bet. this was in Swiftstars younger days but the white mare had never forgiven him.

Eaglestar could feel eyes upon him, boring into his pelt making it feel hot. Hw snorted and turned his head to look at Crystalfeather before continuing on, checking on all of his horses, his herd, his clan. His mane flew back a bit before he entered his own area. He pawed at the ground bobbing his head.

Crystalfeather still watched him with eyes filled with jealousy, she could never become leader nor even Warchief. Though no one knew it she had had a dream to become leader one day. but she never would eb able to. she pawed at the earth angrily Leaders had to be able to speak! then again she supposed she was lucky for not being forced down the path of a healer. miserably she turned and walked to her nest and lay down in it.

Eaglestar looked at the pelts he had upon his small cave. There were many and he was proud. Some, most were gifts. The rest his own. He settled down on a large one. a bear pelt and looked outside, watching Crystalfeather slightly.

The simple white mare twitched her tail and lifted her head. she watched the sky as her ears twitched hearing the faint wing beats of an eagle. she hadnt many of her own pelts. she had always been stubborn and refused any gifts. there fore all of her pelts were small and scrawny. she wasnt as strong as the male warriors. there was but a single bear pelt as well as plenty of fox pelts.

Eaglestar stood up slowly, and trotted through the camp once more as the eagle flew overhead. He had been named after the eagle that had landed nearby when he was born. And it described him well. He was fast and agile.

Unimpressed the female walked out of camp, her ears pinned back. her brown eyes glittering with a sad twisted bitterness in her eyes. she continued walking along heading for the steaming plains.

Eaglestar watched Crystalfeather leave and shrugged, "Wonder what got under her pelt?" He kept walking around the camp, his steps echoing. Clop, clop, clop.

Walking into camp with her head held high, she expected to be reprimanded for killing an eagle. what was considered a noble and great beast. her hooves shook a little as she walked toward eaglestar and placed the feathers at his feet. she whirled around and clip clopped over to the worst cave, the smallest cave. her cave. she was the omega of the clan. if the clan had omegas. tire and bleeding she lay down on her soft fox pelts and rested her head down.

Eaglestar looked down at the feathers of an eagle. Usually braves did not kill an eagle for they were rare and only the chieftain could wear the feathers of such a creature. He nosed them carefully and gave her a rather thankful look before gathering them up off the ground.

Crystalfeather missed the grateful look as she was already in her scrappy nest outside. very much the omega she rested her ehad down and closed her eyes to try and rest.

Eaglestar collected the feathers and trotted back to his own nest. He put them on the ground and moved them this way and that quietly. He smiled at how it was starting to look. He turned around and raced out of camp.

-Going, going, gone!

The mare opened her alert brown eyes at the sound of someones hooves leading out of camp. noticing eaglestar leave she gave a soft grunt and rested her head down again. her eyes closed and she sighed slightly mournfully.

The stallion trotted back his head held high, holding his precious gems. In two bounds he was at his nest and then he dropped the stones. Without a thought he simply crushed them with his hoof. But it was what he had wanted. He lowered his head, rearranging them just like he had done the feathgers.

Crystalfeather flicked her tail and finally managed to fall into a light slumber. her ears sensitive to sounds nad changes. her ears would occassionally flick.

Eaglestar continued his work, his head going this way and that, his hooves making a loud sound. He stomped and pulled and twisted and pushed. Until finally it was done. It was rough looking, then again he had no fingers. It was circular and shining with the stoned he had placed upon it. He stepped back to look at something he had woven with rich fiberous grasses and had taken long and hard to do. He smiled, and contemplated the object which took the shape of a circle. Most would compare it to a dream catcher. It was rough yes, plain but the feathers and stones added to its quiet beauty giving it a wonderful appearnace in the light. Stepping back two of these objects were revealed. He slowly picked one up, he had to thank Crystal for the feathers somehow and this was how he would do it. Though most braves did not wear Eagle feathers, Eaglestar gave her not only the circular round thing, but a feather with a stunning green gem upon it. It was simple and yet beautiful. Seeing her sleeping he set it by her side, hoping she would wake to see it. He smiled and headed back to his own nest. All was quiet in the Swiftclan camp.

Crystalfeather opened her eyes and yawned, another day another fight. she blinked and frowned the objects infront of her coming into focus. she blinked noticing the circular object. what was it for? she shrugged and inspected it. deciding that she rather liked it she gently moved it and set it just above her nest. then looking at the feather she gently picked it up and tucked it behind her ear. who had given these gifts to her? they had made her truly happy.
